Girly card

I´ve bouhgt some more Magnolia stamps. A member of Swedish Scrapbooking was selling her stamps as she didn´t use them anymore. I´m so happy that she didn´t throw them away. They are as good as new ones, one of them didn´t even seem to be used at all.
I can play with my new stamps as much as I like as the weather over here has turned out to crafting weather, cloudy days with some rain and small glimpses of the sun, lucky me. This time I´ve tried masking and making a background.

A pic from the inside as well. There´s some space for writing, not enough for me really as I always tend to write long stories, hehe.

I´ve managed to make a card for three challenges. Funky Fairies wanted to see something girly. I don´t know if my card is girly enough...I´ve never been that girly myself. And when I´ve looked at my sons schoolfriends many of the girls are so much more tougher nowadays, even though the carry small handbags. So this is my version of girly!
The fab sketch is from Simon Says Stamp and I really enjoyed playing with this one.
The flowers, animals and colours fits in for Cupcake Challenges; pink, green and brown (there´s some brown at the ribbon and sentiment tag). Although I´ve added some purple too :)

Stamps and inks: Tilda and backgound are from Magnolia, Inkido butterflies, Memories and Versa Color

Colouring: Derwent watercolour pens and Sakura pens for some glitter

Papers: Bazzill card stock, gorgoues pink downloads from Funky Fairies, Origami paper for leaves, rabbit and paper piecing

Misc: flower from The Scrapbook House, ribbon sticker Magenta, gems Panduro, sentiment tag from my stash

Tools: Nestabilities scalloped ovals, swirl die from Sissix, small flower punch Panduro, dies for leaves and rabbit are QK, unstitch tool for distressing

Hope you get a nice day!

New monthly challenge!

There´s a new monthly challenge at Creatalicious Challenges and they are looking for DT members. The sketch they have is one of the easier ones! They are also offering some fab Blog Candy! I think it´s nice with monthly challenges, it´s sometimes hard to get enough time to weekly ones...

Challenge at Swedish Scrapbooking

Phew, at last a pic I´m pleased with. We got a new camera and it has taken both time and some sweat to learn how to use it. I´ve got no problems with outdoor photos, but all pics for blogger has been a struggle until now. I´ve been testing the camera in every room to find out where I have the best conditions and it appears to be in my bedroom. Well at least now during the summer. When winter comes my kitchen will be ready with some bright light.

This layout is for a challenge at Swedish Scrapbooking. I did choose the theme summer vacation, for me it´s to take a walk at the countryside and enjoy everything green and growing.

Papers: the paper with darkgreen flowers is handmade, the lighter one with flowers is a download from ShabbyPrincess, the paper with red swirls is Fancy Pants, all others are Bazzill.

Stamps and inks: butterfly stamps from Inkado and Rangers Distress Ink for stamping and some distressing.

Dies: Nestabilities, QK flower ( I used the leftover and cut it out with scissors around the edges).

Misc: small flower punch, Sakura pen for some glitter, sentiment, buttons and DMC thread are from my stash, I used my unstitch tool for some paperdistressing.

My mojo has been down below knee cap level for a few days, not even crafting was relaxing. But after a nice movie yesterday evening with some guiltfree candy I feel that I´m back again. I did throw away some challenge tries, shouldn´t have bothered myself trying to create something, but sometimes it helps to get me back on track again. Todays crafting went smothly and was fun again. Now I´m even enjoying my Magnolia stamp!!! This card I made for A spoon full of sugar and their challenge was swirls.

Papers: green cardstock and ordinary crafting papers.

Stamps: image and tag are Magnolia, butterflies are Inkado, sentiment is Prima and all others are Tim Holtz.

Ink and colours: Versa Color and Memories, and Derwent watercolour pens.

Misc: Nestabilities oval dies, gems are from Panduro, I used my unstitch tool for the paper distressing (it works great after some practising, but they are sharp!!!).

Sweet summerdreams

There´s a fab sketch at Friday Sketchers this week. I imidiately saw a layout in my mind for one of the old holiday photos I´ve been moving around whilst waiting for some scrap inspiration. The colour choice comes from Colour Create Challenges, although I skipped the optional vintage choice. I had some difficulties taking this pic, the photo on the layout was either too dark or only a white square. I decided to show this darker one where you at least can see something of the image. You can always click at my pic to get a better look.

Papers: the blue with birds is Funky Fairies, the darker blue is a piece of vellum, I used Bazzill for the dots and blingstars, all other papers are ordinary crafting papers

Dies: Sissix alphabet, QK for bigger stars and dots, Cuttlebug for tiny stars

Misc: sentiment tag is from my stash

Strawberry Fields

Simon Says Stamp has a challenge with summer fruits or fruity colours, as I don´t have any stamps with fruits I worked with the colours. I stamped the paper edges instead of distressing them and I´m very pleased with the result.
The fab sketch is from Funky Fairies weekly challenge. They have some lovely digi downloads, I often use them if I´m out of a paper, so easy to print out at home. They have some free downloads if you want to try. I´ve been thinking of trying some digiscrapping, but at the moment I only have cardmaking on my mind!

Stamp and ink: Tim Holtz flower swirls, I only used parts of this stamp, ink fromVersa Color.

Papers: the green papers are Bazzill, the paper with green flowery swirls is from Funky Fairies, the red is Maja Design, and the vanilla coloured is ordinary crafting paper.

Misc: Sissix beach dies, gems and small flower punch from Panduro, small leaves and butterflie from my stash, I added some bling with a Sakura pen and some glossy effects with Magic Dimension (they doesn´t really show on the pic, but the sunglasses and bucket have some gloss), I cut the photo corners and the ric rac edges with scissors.

Here we have yet another sunny and hot day, so we´re off to the beach. Have a nice day!

Christmas in July, hoho!!

This was a bit funny; I went to my local plant school to get something new to my flower pots, and there I found this felt heart. They´ve had nice pearls and paper butterflies too! I guess they are using them for flower arrangements, but I love to use them for crafting. Their prices are lower than usual craft stores, but they can give me an odd look when I´m not poking around their plants instead.
When I came home I checked for challenges and there it was, Christmas in July, so perfect for my new felt heart. I really do like hearts for Christmas! I could have added something more blue to the card but, ah well, now it´s done.

Christmas challenge was for Whimsy Stamps and the fab and easy sketch is from A spoon full of sugar.

Papers: the red ones are Panduro, the blue is Prima

Stamp and ink: Tim Holtz flowerswirl, VersaColor for stamping and distressing

Misc: blue Sakura pen, blue stars G├╝termann, felt hart from my local plant school, added some sparkle with Rangers Stickles, gems are Panduro

I´ll be busy with my family a few days (the usually swimming and splashing) but I´ll be back to Blogworld at Saturday again. Take care!

My first Magnolia stamp and Nesties!

I´ve been admiring all lovely cards with Magnolia stamps and Nesties for a time now. So I thought that why not try them out. I was very happy for my purchase, but when I started the colouring it reminded me so much of those colouring books I used to get as a child. Always very cute images, but I´m not quite sure if that´s my cup of tea. I might give my new stamp another go, but it´s a bit sad to find out that maybe these adorable images aren´t for me. Ah well, there are like zillions of other stamps, so I´m not that unhappy! And I can always find a new owner to my stamp if needed. And I do like my Nesties, I´m very happy for them.

This card works for Just Magnolias fab sketch and for Cupcake Craft Challenges who wants to see some butterflies and blossom.

Papers: Patterned papers are Panduro and all others are ordinary crafting papers.

Stamp and ink: Magnolia, Inkido, Memories and Rangers DistressInks.

Colouring: Derwent watercolour pens

Misc: Ribbon is Magenta, gems are from Panduro, oval scalloped dies from Nestabilities, the sentiment is from my stash

Party card

I love embossing! I´ve made my first trembling steps and now I´m ready to emboss everything. The first time I tried the embossing medium just fell off, I hadn´t heated it enough and there I sat with all that fine dust on my trousers wondering what happened!

This card is for three challenges:
Funky Fairies 4 papers, 3 embellishments, 2 diecuts and 1 image
Simon Says Stamp Challenge paper piecing
Friday Sketchers fab layout

Papers: paper with bubbles is from Funky Fairies, I used it for the paper piecing as well, black one an Origami paper, the other two are ordinary crafting papers

Stamps and inks: Panduro, bubble plastic, Memories, Distress Inks

Colouring: Derwent watercolour pens, Sakura pen for accents on the paper piecings

Misc: star diecut is QK, I made the arrow using a scrappiece (Bazzill paper I think), I have stamped the small bubbles with bubble plastic ( I know, there are stamps that give the same pattern) and embossed them with a sparkly powder from Reprint, stars are from my stash

Ever dreamed of spending 1000$ on crafting?

Your dream can come true at The Cuttlebug Spot !

I´ve been trying to imagine how to spend such an amount, you could be swimming in dies and embossing folders. Some alphabets could be nice of course...I´ll continue with my dreams. Today I´ll be out for a shopping spree at my local crafting store, so something from my wishlist will find it´s way to me. I´m a lucky girl today!!!

My crafting corner

So here it is, my corner!!! It´s not spatious. I don´t have any view. But I got everything I need! My sewing machine is hidden under the fabrics, I suppose I could store it in my cupboard but as I´m lazy it´s easier for me to have it ready to use. Otherwise I wouldn´t use it as often I do. To the left, beside the table, I have my ironing board and I use it as an extra crafting table. I guess you can understand why, hehe. I store my Cuttlebug and two boxes with paints, inks, stamps in a cupboard and I got a drawer with my papers.

Two challenges in a card

This card was great fun to work with!!! I was so pleased to work with the pink colour and hearts, I´ve got two sons and usually work with more boyish colours. Have to admit that I have used that yellow and green paper for their baby cards. But not pink!!!

Challenge for A spoon full of sugar and Whimsy stamps.

You can click on the picture to get a larger image (I´m trying to work out how to get better pics to show. They tend to look a bit shady...even though I actually had two bright lamps.)

Papers: ordinary crafting papers

Stamps: a wood stamp from India (gives just a faded image of a flower)

Inks: VersaColor

Misc: Alphabet and swirl diecuts from Sissix, big heart from Cuttlebug
Ribbon, small heart punch, "wave" scissor and gems from Panduro
I added some Magical Dimension to the big heart and some sparkle to the smaller ones with Rangers Stickles

Black and white for Cupcake Craft Challenge

You can click on the picture to get a larger image.

What fun with black and white!!! I´m making a monochromatic album with old photos, so here comes a layout with some stamping too.
My father was very much a self made man, he worked for long hours during the weeks and when he had some free time he enjoyed being out at the cottage with the family.

Made for a challenge for Cupcake Craft Challenge. I am so happy, they will continue with their challenges. Always sad to see someone leave but nice to see someone else take over. They got such a lovely name and great DTs.

Papers: crafting papers, embossed Origami paper and a paper strip from Panduro

Stamps and alphabet mask: Tim Holtz

Inks and distress embossing: Ranger

Misc: Sakura pen for writing

Challenge for StampArtic.

It was pure joy to make this card. Soothing colours that I´m used to work with as I´m a mother to two boys. It was an easy layout to work with even though I haven´t got any oval dies to work with. I was lucky enough to find an oval die cut in my stash.

Papers: blue ordinary crafting paper, all the other papers and the oval die cut are from Panduro.

Stamp: frame and sentiment from Prima, the others from Panduro

Inks: Distress Inks for distressing and stamping

Colours: Derwent watercolour pens, doodles made with a Sakura pen

Misc: the ribbon is a gift

Friday Sketchers!

Card challenge for Friday Sketchers.

I have to admit that this card layout was somehow very challenging for me. At one moment I had all my papers and crafting gears out, and there I was standing in the middle of the chaos not knowing where to begin... I closed the door gently and went bloghoping!!! And at last I saw some light at the end of the tunnel.

Stamp: an old flower stamp from Panduro and leaf stamp is from Exchangebles

Ink: VersaColor both for stamping and distressing

Papers:the green and yellow are ordinary crafting papers, the flowery is a Japanese origami paper

Embellishments: flowers and yellow dots cut with QK, sentiment "stamp" is cut with Cuttlebug

Misc: I have used a Cuttlebug embossing fold for one of the paper strips, I have added some Dimensional Magic to the dots and some Ranger Sickles for some extra sparkle on the flowers, made some doodles with a Sakura pen

Colour Create Challenge

This one I made on a really hot day, the colours were just perfect for a sunny day : white, lemon and sunflower yellow and apple and grassy green. I have to admit that most of the card was done during the cooler nighthours! It was too hot to craft during daytime!

You can find the challenge at Colour Create.

Stamp: Panduro (an old one)

Ink: Memories

Colouring: Derwent watercolour pens and VersaColor for distressing

Papers: Yellow crafting paper and Japanese Origami papers

Embellishment: flower and button from my stash. Small yellow circles are cut out with QK, I added them some Dimensional Magic and crackled them when they where dry. The semtiment is computer generated.

The inside is also decorated, I used my Inkido butterfly stamps with VersaColor and added a small swirl with my Sakura pen.

Bold summercolours

I loved to make this one. I would have never ever used these colours by myself, but I tried and liked the outcome of it. The only thing that I would like to change are the leaves, they could have been placed better...but now they have to stay put.

Stamp: Panduro (it´s an old one, don´t think they have it anymore)
Ink: Memories
Colouring: Derwent watercolourpens, pink marker, green Sakura pen
Papers: light green one is ordinary crafting paper, all the other are Japanese Origami papers
Embellishments: Flower, small leaves and butterflies are stickers from my stash. Bigger leaves are diecuts from local store and QK with Bazill Bling paper.

I made this card for a challenge on Simon Says Stamp.

Wednesday, July 1, 2009

Today my colouring was a real disaster, I was so disappointed! Just wanted to toss the picture away! But fortunately the word Piecing came to my mind. That word saved my day!

Stamp: Panduro

Ink: Memories

Colouring: Derwent watercolourpens

Distressing: Rangers Distress Ink

Papers: The yellow is ordinary crafting paper, the piecing paper and the darker blue one is a Japanese Origami paper, the lighter blue is from Funky Fairy (free download, I love them, they are so easy to print out when your out of a paper)

Embellishment: die cut butterflies, pearls and glitter from my stash (I made them at my local shop and borrowed that idea from another crafter).

I made this for challenges on A spoon full of sugar and for Funky Fairies.

My first card with my first stamp

I had great fun with this! I didn´t really believe that I would be able to create a card. But girls, I did it!
Just click at the photo and you will see it enlarged!

I´m clearly not a computer wiz, only linked the pic and not this side for my card challenges, dooh! I had to leave comments with the proper link, so I hope it works better now! Must have lost my last braincell somewhere, hehe.

The stamp is an old one from Panduro, my only one with a character on it. Guess I need to get some more stamps soon... The ink is Memories.
I´ve coloured and distressed it with my watercolours from Derwent.
Most of the papers are from my stash, they are just ordinary crafting papers. The lighter orange coloured one is Bazill Bling.
The yellow paper is embossed with Cuttlebugs D´vine swirls.
I added some glitter with a Sakura pen to the image and also wrote with the same pen.
Then added some embellishment; gems and heartbutton from Panduro and a red yarn for embroidery.

Challenge for Cupcake Craft Challenges (sad enough their last one) and for Whimsy Stamps Challenges.
